This also allows the host and co-hosts to gain insight into each guest's stay in order to provide unique accommodations for the maximum enjoyment. Help us help you!

• Instead of giving a bad review, communicate issues during your stay. Most issues can be fixed so that you can enjoy your stay. This is a home and sometimes issues arise. I am very easy to work with and will do all I can to remedy any issues presented, which is rare.

Guest access
Electronic combination door lock for entry. Access code and checkin instructions provided after booking and also show up the day of checkin. Whole house is accessible.

Other things to note
The following is set of guidelines and house rules that are no different than a normal rental agreement. Don't be deterred by the details...To put it simply, treat my home as if it were your own and realize I have a lot invested in it. If you break it you replace it. If you have a dog then I expect you to be more cleanly that someone who doesn't.

Have fun. I'm much more laid back than you realize and these are regulations to prevent damage to my home so that others can enjoy it for years to come.

*** Linen Service is $10.00 per load of laundry charged after checkout. Comforters are considered part of the "linens" and are laundered after every use and calculated in the load list. If you bring your own, I will assume you will bring your own blankets too. There are couch covers that protect the furniture and should be used during your stay to prevent accidental spills or shedding of hair and dog fur. They require laundering as well and are calculated in my free load of laundry.

*** "Bringing your own linens" will add a mitigation tool to prevent the spread of infectious disease during the pandemic and expedite the cleaning of the property. Note: Beds will not be made upon arrival so that guests do not have to strip the beds to use their own linens. It also assures you that linens are cleaned because they will be folded and stored in bins and the room's closets upon arrival.

*** Cleaning Fee covers one load of laundry, and typical cleaning. If my cleaner has to spend excessive hours because you left a huge mess, then you will be billed for their extra time. I pay my cleaners a fair living wage and they should be compensated for their time appropriately. It is also recommended to leave a tip for the cleaners especially if you left a mess and had to rush out.

*** Strip used linens and bedding that were used and place in a pile on their respective beds. If you did not use a bed please make sure it is obvious that the bed was not used. If you laundered them yourself at checkout, please fold and place back on the bed or in the closets.

*** Do not overload the Washer and Dryer.

*** If laundering a comforter, only launder just the comforter and do not add any other items with it.

*** Please empty all of your pockets of sand and shake off your bedding, linens and clothes before you use the washer and dryer. If the washing machine becomes clogged I will do a request for funds to pay for the fix.

*** Do not leave Laundry running and leave. If something goes wrong after you depart flooding and electrical damage can occur.

*** You have the option to bring your own linens or launder and return the bedding you use and therefore opt out of the laundry fee. However, the house and the linens will be inspected to determine if in fact they are cleaned properly. We will request funds for any linens stated to be cleaned but actually are not. Again, if you laundered the linens you must notify me and also ensure it is obvious you cleaned them so that my cleaner does not launder them a second time. Perhaps just fold rather than making the bed if you laundered them.

*** Please don't miss Trash Collection, this can severely inconvenience the next guest with a stench and not having a place to get rid of waste. If I have to make a special dump, then you will be billed.

*** The trash and recycling bins must be wheeled to the street on the grass but close to the road.

*** I offer a unique service where you can bring a furry friend. Therefore, if you bring dogs please put in a little extra effort and sweep/vacuum up dog hair in exchange for me allowing this service. It is much appreciated. This includes getting dog hair off the couches and under them.

*** Pet fee for 1 Dog is $25.00 and each additional Dog is $50.00. By offering this unique dog-friendly service, you are required to sweep and vacuum inside and clean up droppings in the yard. If they mess inside, you must clean it up and inform us so we can follow-up.

*** Please bring your own pooh bags or scooper and do not throw feces directly in the bins. Use a bag, then dispose in the trash bins.

*** Only Wash Dogs in the Outside Shower.

*** We have a policy that you must be 25 years or older to book. Special consideration must be given to accommodate those younger than 25.

*** It is highly recommended that you purchase Traveler's Insurance if you are staying from August to November at the height of hurricane season. If your trip is cancelled due to a storm, Traveler's Insurance will completely reimburse you for your stay. This can be purchased from $50 to $100 in most cases. I've had great prices and experiences using Generalli Traveler's Insurance where you can get a quote online or on the phone.

*** Our policy prohibits half-weekend bookings or a reservation that falls halfway into a holiday (i.e. checking out in the middle of a July 4th week or the middle of labor day weekend). A full weekend must be booked and you can not checkout on the actual day of the holiday (Checking out on Christmas day). If a reservation falls on a three or four day weekend, they must be booked in its entirety. My cleaners have families and vacation as well that prevent rapid turnover.

*** The Sun Sail is in the Garage folded up. Remove the Sun Sail from the posts outside after each use, before a storm and especially before checkout. This will prevent it from tearing in high winds. If it is left up and it is damaged in a storm you will be charged for replacement.

*** Ensure doors are closed and locked anytime you leave and especially at checkout.

*** Ensure all gates are closed and latched especially on checkout. Secure gates and check them during you stay to ensure dogs and kids can not escape.

*** If there are some recommendations you have or something I can do to make your stay better, please let me know while you are there. No need for a nasty review if it is something I can remedy. If you are attempting to get a free stay by whining and complaining, it won't work here. I will report this to Airbnb immediately. Just don't stay here. I've had people try and they always lose. I'm a super nice person and very accommodating, but will not cave to threats about bad reviews or whatever other games.

*** If you are not a pet person please do not have any hesitations with booking. I clean extremely well and the place is good for those without pets. It doesn't smell like dogs. We do an extra good job of cleaning.

*** If you have allergies towards dogs, please keep that in mind before booking. I am not liable for issues arising from pet allergies or sensitivities. You may just want to book another place.

*** Please don't remove fish scales in the sink or leave seafood smells for the next guest. I will request funds for this inconvenience. I have no issues if you cook and clean up and get rid of the smell. I'd recommend doing this outside on the grill though. Most people just don't like arriving for the start of their vacation with the smell of seafood from previous guests.

*** Do not use grill underneath the house, deck or awnings. This is a fire hazard and can damage and char the ceiling or deck above. Only use the grill in open areas. Do not dump coals in the yard as they can ignite at later dates.

*** Only dogs allowed. No Cats. Sorry, too many people with allergies.

*** I include a security deposit for my own protection of the house. If I have to clean serious messes or fix damages, then I will get a deduction from Airbnb via your card, but will work with guests for resolutions before going through Airbnb. This shouldn't be an issue though.

*** Firepit: Do not dispose of hot coals or ash in the trash bin or yard. Please use the hose to put out any coals, let sit for 24 hours and then spread in an out-of-site spot in the yard. Then, Re-spray the ashes on the lawn so they can't reignite. Do not leave piles of ashes. This is a fire hazard.

*** If you want an all-inclusive stay do not stay at an Airbnb home. You are responsible for bringing your own supplies. Consider this a home away from home, and enjoy it for what it is. It really is a unique modern style of vacationing enjoyed by the masses. Please respect my investment.

Things We Recommend You Bring Along:

Although we provide certain amenities for your stay in the home, there are a few things you may need while you are here.

Items such as beach towels, coolers, beach chairs, umbrellas, and beach toys will not be provided. Also, child-safety items such as outlet covers and baby gates are not provided. Make sure to bring these items with you! Bring your coffee, food, beverage and hygiene supplies. My bikes keep getting jacked up by guests. You may want to bring your own, or get rentals.

Off Season is the best time to go! If you haven't experienced the OBX from September to May then you should give it a try. The weather is warm until November along with the water temperatures, and it is quiet and relaxing and an open beach for you, the family and your fur friends to explore. Kids can jump in the water in April without feeling cold. Maybe a bit different for us older folks. The stars are brighter with less light pollution, and the locals like to keep business booming year round. Give it a whirl, you'll thank me later. Oh and the surf is better during the Fall, Winter and Spring.

Restaurants and things to do: (Also check the Guidebook in this listing for further recommendations)

You must hit 2 Roads Tavern while you're here for the best craft burgers in the OBX. Try their Carolina Chicken Pickle Brine Sandwich...to die for! Chili Peppers has amazing portions of cheap but delicious Tex-Mex (only place I have seen serving Pupusa's, an El Salvadorian dish on the east coast)! Food Dudes and The Thai Room are exquisite. Checkout the Black Pelican for legendary seafood and views of the beach, corn hole and tv's to watch the game. Of Course Mamma Kwan's is an old favorite though it gets crowded. Ten O' Six is an awesome spot for a quick breakfast burrito or sandwich, or even breakfast bowl. Their Porktopia Bowl is Legiiiiit! Green Tails has Fresh catch everything either to take home and make yourself or takeout/eat-in. Drive a little further into Nags Head for a view to die for at Jeannette's Pier as the sun rises on the ocean horizon. Also, visit Jockey's Ridge and Roll down the largest moving Sand Dunes in North America. There's wild horses in Corova and Corrolla that can be booked with tours or seen on your own with 4 x 4 auto permit access on the beach. Please review the rules and regulations for beach driving and viewing the wild horses.
